Blown Glass Artist
Christopher Hawthorne has become internationally recognized for his large and colorful, loosely-handled blown glass artwork. Chris’s casually elegant forms exemplify masterful skill. Dale Chihuly, invited him to further explore the medium. Hawthorne’s teachers included Dan Dailey and Lino Tagliapetra, who supported his efforts to develop a colorful and painterly approach to glass sculpture at the Pilchuck Glass School (established by Chilhuly in the 1970’s). Chris currently works out of his studio near his home in Oregon.
NOTE: You can view Christopher Hawthorne’s art and the artworks of over 60 other artists here at J. Petter Galleries. See our Events page to find out if any of your favorite artists will be visiting us for an Artist’s Reception this season.
