Jerry Kienke

Wood

Jerome Paul Kienke (Jerry) was born and bred in the Great Lakes state of Michigan where woods and water surround all.  Jerry followed his dreams of owning a Michigan built Chris Craft.  This led to thirty years spent restoring 23 Chris Craft vessels, once called the ‘the fastest speed boat on earth’.  His most recent restorations were of two fantastically beautiful 24 ft. 1926 mahogany triple cockpit wooden Chris Crafts.  The demise of antique wooden runabouts led Jerry’s woodworking skills to other challenges.  The tall woods of Michigan abound with hard strong maple trees.  These trees are perfect for furniture construction with its special patterns of wavy grain.  Smoothing the surface by planing and carefully polishing the maple with its intricate spaulded accidental markings bring out the graceful patterns.   It is perfect for the one of a kind distinctive tables that Jerry creates.

Jerry brings us more work as he finishes it.  It sells often, so to see the current inventory and colors available, please visit the gallery.  View the art of Jerry Kienke and the works of over sixty more fine artists at J.
