Sheila Bohanon

Sheila Bohanon was born in Minnetonka, Minnesota.  To our patrons at J. Petter Galleries Sheila is known as the artist who paints colorful dogs, zebras, birds, bunnies and elephants.  She was schooled at the Kalamazoo Institute of Arts (MI), the Bloomington Center of the Arts (MN) and the University of Minnesota – Studio Arts (MN).  Bohanon has won many awards such as: Kalamazoo Area Painters Society Award, Directors Choice Purchase Prize, Kalamazoo Area Show and was a featured artist in the March issue of the American Artist.  Her artwork has been displayed at J Petter Galleries (Saugatuck/Douglas, MI), Krasl Art Center – All Michigan All Media Art Competition, Kalamazoo Institute of Arts – Permanent Collection, Oakland Community College – Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow: Women in Art, Art Center of Battle Creek Places in the Heart: Artist’s Visions of Rural, Urban and Suburban Scenes, First Presbyterian Church – One Person Exhibition coordinated by the Kalamazoo Institute of Arts.
